We had quite some wind early this week. Jim took this photo of the Frankfort Lighthouse with the waves crashing across the pier and wrote:

Lake Michigan in a full gale, winds steady at 32, gusts to 45, glad I wasn’t out there.

32 years ago tomorrow, 29 men lost their lives in an even fiercer November storm aboard the Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior. Over on Absolute Michigan we have a video titled The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Joseph Fulton that anyone who remembers that storm would definitely appreciate … I’m guessing that even folks who don’t remember it would too.
